Life moves fast. When’s the last time you actually stopped and asked yourself how you’re doing?
In this episode, we slow down and do something simple but powerful — we check in. Not with anyone else, but with yourself. Your mental state, your energy, your direction. Because before you can reset anything, you have to know where you actually are.

One thing gotta do trying to say this, I'm not just saying this to a sign. You need a lot of time during the week or uh some point during the day if you can do it daily, to check in on yourself, see how you're doing, how you feel check inventory and see what's going on and how you're feeling, how you react and everything. If you're feeling good, great. If you're not feeling good, then you know at that point you think of a plan to uh keep yourself in a good space and how you're gonna manage and maintain until you're able to get home and be compressed. But this isn't just for you. Those that are close, those that have been there for you, those that you care about, don't be afraid to hit them up and check on them too. You want to foster those relationships, you want to keep those going. Now, with that being said, this is coming from someone who I mean, I don't check on many people, and if I do check on them, it's probably like once every few months, maybe. Unless it's my mom, that's more often. But uh, like everyone else, I check on them every once in a few months, and even then, I'm still checking on them. Listen, I'm not talking to them like every day. Now you know I see how they're doing, see how they've been. Now, if it's someone who I used to talk to and they stopped communicating with me, do I check on them then? No. Not going to. You didn't uh find the time to talk to me then. Why would you find the time to talk to me now? Now, with that being said, you never know what people are going through. But in the end, uh, I must say I just don't care. Uh if you cared, you would have said something. Or you would have been like, oh yeah, I'm in good. I'm doing alright. Hope you're doing well. I need some space. Something, you know, but it's going ghosts. Now at that point I stopped caring and stopped checking in. But those that I care about, and those that I actually, you know, uh I that I do uh talk to. You know, I check on them every few months and see how they're doing, see what's going on, say hi, things of that nature. And you know, it's gonna make sure they're good and okay. And if they're not okay and they need somebody to talk to, I'll be there. And even then, I'm the type that even if I haven't talked to you in a few months, if you hit me up and you say you need someone to talk to, I'll talk to you. Make sure you're okay. And if you are not okay, then you know we'll work through that. And if you're trying to talk to me to, you know, figure some shit out, do some planning, questions about career, school, life, I'm there. Now talk. Um, but you know, I make sure that you know everything that I care for and everything that I care about, I do check in on. Whether it's things, whether it's people, whether it's animals, you know, just take care of them, make sure they're okay. For myself, um the way I do it and the way I approach it, I basically uh, well, you know, I think I'll loud and you know, it's like, okay, so well, actually, this usually happens when I'm like on the road in a car and driving for a long time. Like, I got a two-hour commute to and from work. So with that, there's a lot of free time. So, you know, I take inventory and make sure I'm good. Decompress, uh go over things in my head. Sometimes I speak aloud. You can say it's crazy if you want. I don't care. Schizophrenic. I can I can do that, and you don't even have to be schizophrenic to do that. That's not even a schizophrenic trait. With that being said, uh, you know, I think out loud and work things out in my head and go from there. And you know, I always try to find a balance for in the end where I'm like, okay, so I feel okay, I feel good. Today was a good day, or you know, I feel okay, I feel good. Today was a challenging day, but in the end, you know, everything's okay, everything's alright. You know, just be there for yourself and uh just reassure yourself that you know you're gonna be good. No talking negatively to yourself, no talking negative about how you're doing or what you're doing. Strictly just, you know, I'm doing good. I'm doing alright. Let's move on. So, y'all gonna make it a point to check in on yourself? Y'all gonna make it a point to check in on others as well? You never know what people are going through, and they may need someone to talk to. I'm just gastone. This is Harisa.
