Unseen Hours: Episode 17 - The Cost You Pay
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
Choosing to change your life sounds powerful. But nobody talks about what it actually costs you to do it.
In this episode, we get into the real price of starting over — the sacrifices, the uncomfortable in-between, and what it takes to keep moving when the transition feels heavier than expected. The reset is worth it. But it’s not free.

The cost of starting over. Welcome to season three of Unseen Hours, our reset podcast. Um I can say when you choose to go for certain goals, there is a price to everything. There is no I just want to achieve this goal and I'm gonna get there and that's it. There are certain um prices and sacrifices you have to make in order to actually make it work. Um the cost, time, effort, uh, the time that you would spend with your family, those you love. You have certain goals in mind, that's gonna be um cut down. And depending on how deep you're in it, it could be cut down severely. So when you're making these choices, you have to know that's a price you're gonna have to pay. Your mental health, you gotta know that you're gonna be dealing with a lot of obstacles. You're gonna be dealing with a lot of people that don't want you to succeed. You're gonna be dealing with uh a lot of situations where you're kind of just thrown out there unprepared. You may feel prepared, but you may not have been prepared in the sense that they didn't set you up to succeed. They kind of just let you out there and let's see what he can do. Let's see what she can do. And in those situations, you gotta stay poised and stay focused. All these things, you know, they're prices you have to pay. Now with that being said, once you accept those things, it's all work, it's all part of schedule, it's all on point, it's all part of system. You knew this was happening, you knew this was coming. Mentally you're prepared, so you go out there and you knock it out. There's no surprise. There's no, oh, um, I don't know what I'm gonna do here. I can't believe this is happening. No, there's none of that. Me rebuilt yourself, you rebuilt yourself to be strong and resilient. So now when you're put in these situations, it's nothing. You put yourself in pressure situations just so you can be used to pressure. So this doesn't bother you. You already know you can handle it. So then at that point, you're just going out there and doing what you have to do. And then once you succeed, you realize the value and the cost that you paid. But you gotta remember that everything can't be that one goal. The goal just has to be a means to an end. Because once you achieve that goal, then what? Are you gonna still feel happy? Are you still gonna feel fulfilled? Or are you gonna wanna go for something else after that? Are you gonna want to push your limits a little more? So in the end, it's not I want to reach this goal, oh I've reached the pinnacle, oh this is the best thing ever. And then you're stuck with, okay, now what? What do I do now? It's not that. It's you set this goal, you went for it, you achieved it, and now after you achieve it, you relax, spend time with your family, spend time with the ones you love, spend time doing the things that you love doing, and then once you recalibrate and see where you want to go next, you focus on that goal. And you move towards that and working towards that, regardless of what's going on. It's a never-ending cycle, but it's a fulfilling cycle if you do it correctly. So in the end, you don't just, you know, choose your goal and accept the costs to achieve that goal, and then leave it at that. You accept the cost, you don't neglect your responsibilities, you achieve that goal, and you continue to take care of those that you love and the ones you care about. And then you should have goals, but they never should be the end all, be all. It should just be a means to an end. If your goal is to make more money so you can take care of your family, okay, you achieve that, and then at that point, okay, I did that. Now maybe I can focus on my family and making their lives a little more fulfilled. You know? Um, it has to be bigger than just the goal. It has to be an overarching thing that you're really trying to achieve to make not just your situation better, but those that you love better. And in the end, that's the cost of success, you know, sacrificing, putting in the time and the work, putting in the effort, not getting stopped by hurdles and obstacles that people throw in your way. Just stay in focus. It may be tiring, it may be exhausting, but all you're doing is you're just pushing your limits so you can extend your stamina. And the more you extend your stamina, the more you can handle. And that's it. I'm just cast on. This is Unseen Hours.
